Here's hoping Batch's big beamer is back!

7 games to look forward to this weekend ...

M1s v Clydesdale away 14:00

James Nairn and Michael McKenzie will be going back to their old home this weekend - both have been excellent additions to the squad this year and are sure to have extra motivation to get the 3pts this saturday. The 1s will be looking for another successful trip to the west this weekend after their 2-0 victory in the first round of the Scottish Cup against Western last week. Cammy Fraser is also back after his honeymoon in Jamaica, with a tan that Katie Price would be happy with, and after a full week of training is ready to lead the team out.

M2s v Hillhead away GHK 16:30

The M2s travel to Hillhead this weekend. With another two wins under their belt last week the 2s have built a good platform. They will be up against stern opposition though, Hillhead are undefeated at home - but have yet to win an away game. The 2s newest recruit, Joe Nelmes, comes to us from Old Loughtonians 1s and scored three over the weekend. The 2s will look for him and Dave Ellis to continue to provide the fire power up front. This will also be a preview of Round 2 of the cup in a fortnight's time - the teams will scout each other out in time for that big game.

M3s v Uddingston 12:30 home Fettes

The 3s looked sharp in training last night and solid in their defensive set up. Three points from this fixture was targeted at the start of the year to ensure a safe mid-table position in their first year back in Central One. Uddingston secured a 1-1 draw with Kelburne last week (last year this would have been a much better scoreline) so the 3s have to be in good form to get a win.

Dev v 5s EA 15:00

PICK OF THE WEEK

Grab your popcorn and get down to EA for the 3pm start. Peter Bailey and Alastair Russell have been selected to officate this fiesty fixture. Neither team have dropped points this season and both are gunning for the win. Dev Captain Martin Shepherdson expects a close game 'the 'galacticos' need pushed off their pedestal they have got a little too big for their boots and I'm sure our young team which will include, minimum, 2 of the current U16 Scotland squad will give them a tougher challenge than they have faced all year.' Jon Broomhead - 5s skipper 'the Dev team shouldn't be too much of a bother for us really. The old guys are getting close to needing hip replacements and the young guys aren't tall enough to compete with our 6ft5 centre forward Doug Meikle.'

Expect this fighting talk to continue on the pitch!

Sunday 16 October

M3s v Edinburgh University 2s Peffermill 13:00

The M2s played Edinburgh University on Sunday and Stag Colin MacBeth is in charge of this young side. They didn't cause the 2s very many problems and I can see the fixture being quite close. The 3s will need their experience and captain Matt Henton will need to make sure his players are well rested to play against this fit side.

M7s v Stirling University 2s EA 14:00

The 7s had a tough loss against WIT last week. This week sees another hard game. Stirling Uni have also come down the leagues and Damien has highlighted the 7s will need to play very well to get anything from the game.

All quotes may be entirely fictional but are really what captains are thinking but not saying.
