Coming in to this game we envisaged that Inverleith would have a team laced with 1st XI players and be the toughest of our end of season encounters.

Fortunately for us they were struggling for players and brought a bare 11 to the game. They didn't even have mouchtasio man on the sidelines!

We started in our normal set up with the Spanish MacIver coming out of retirement to play centre forward!

After 5 minutes we settled on the ball and played some excellent passing and moving hockey.

Graham, Cruickshank, Coaton and Collister created some chances and fed the forwards.

I don't remember many of the goals, all I do remember is shaving a lad - I took the ball right off his whiskers, skinning their centre back and reverse sticking it bottom corner. I remember it because I didn't put the ball over, or wide or miss it completely!

The first half saw us play the best we have all season - maybe it's cause we didn't have old batch slowing us down!

We went in 4-0 and the message was, let's bury them like we haven't managed to do for a couple of years.

Second half wasn't quite as convincing but we were patient and scored all 4 with about 10 to go.

A great win, and it sets us up well for the last week and the last game.

70 minutes of hard work and sensible hockey to the title boys.

If we play like we did last week we have a very good chance against Uni 3s. No one is underestimating them they came very close to kelburne last week and can certainly cause an upset - especially with dougie 'nutmeg' imrie up front!
