The vagaries of leading the Grange 3rd XI continue; players in the squad one minute and then gone the next, our third keeper in four games and no umpire.
The side started well and competed fully with Kelburne for the opening 15 minutes. However, an unlucky deflection from a PC saw the opening goal loop into the back of the net, visibly deflating the players. The first half finished with the boys 3-0 down.
The killer blow was made in only the second minute of the second period, with some Moses-esque defending allowing a simple goal for the opposition.
Resilience then waned for 10-15 minutes before once more getting back into proper hcokey and again competing properly with Kelburne with a 4-man midfield for the middle part of the second half.
Credit to Doobs & Coaton, both of whom played well throughout. Thanks to the umpire (or not, according to Stumpy).
