The torrential rain provided an atmospehric background to match the action of this fixture. What was actually a very closely-ran match, saw the 3rd XI shoot oursleves in the foot for four of their five goals. Calamitous individual errors inside our own 25 area gave Inverleith easy scoring opportunities which they took.
A solid first half, with much short, sharp hockey being played down our right-hand flank saw us down only 2-1 at the break.
We equalised soonish after the re-start, but then a 10 minute spell in the final 15 munites saw us ship three quick goals and with it went any chance of the taking points.
The positive is the knowledge that there is the return fixture after Christmas to atone for this.
Goals scored by Cosh & Kit.
Thanks to Ramsay for stepping in at the last minute to umpire.
