A bit of a makeshift all-stars team given the struggle with numbers, but you couldn't tell from the quality of the first half interplay. Solid at the back, effective counter attacks through the midfield and some clinical finishing left us pretty well placed at 3-0 up half-time. Stitch opening his account with the first, anyone know who got the second? and new kid on the block Ross McHarg finishing with a lovely deflected finish to get the third. An aggressive formation with Andy Daniels as sweeper and hard pressing left ESM struggling to develop any rhythm.
Then a lack of half-time sugar (take full blame) and a relatively shallow bench started to take its toll in the second half. Composure seeped away and despite Stitch getting another goal, a trio of short corners let them back into the game. It started to get increasingly scrappy, and a controversial last ESM goal two minutes from time was a pretty harsh ending.
Overall a decent first showing with a couple of areas to work on.
