The students got off to a fast start but our defense stood firm and it wasn't long before we created a few chances for ourselves. Unfortunately these were not converted and the number of passes going astray gradually increased, putting us under ever increasing pressure. Miles Ede was a stalwart in the centre of defense, mopping up numerous attacks, and Red Roberts didn't get out of the way of the shots that were hit at him :-)
We were probably lucky to get to half time on level terms and the second half was even more one-sided with the ball firmly lodged in our half of the pitch.
Despite our best efforts, a reverse stick shot from the top of the circle found the corner of the net with only 10 minutes to go.
This spurned us on to our first real attacks of the second period, however we were unable to seriously threaten and ended the game feeling fortunate to have escaped having conceded only one goal.
