As we lined up for our first game after the break the thought had to cross our minds, was there any chance of a repeat of the shambles from October?

Giving Watsons 3 easy goals had put the match beyond our reach, would this game be any different?

A brisk start saw us enjoy lots of possession and an early corner gave Bunker the opportunity to put us ahead. A sweet strike and the ball simply rocketed into the net giving the defence no chance.

Another corner shortly after was stopped by a defender's stomach having been deflected by one of his own teammates. McNally put the resultant flick into the net to give us a fairly comfortable 2-0 lead.

That was followed by the best goal of the game when Dodkin picked up a pass from debutant Tom Faulds and fired home past a bewildered keeper. 3-0 at half time and looking very comfortable.

The second half saw a much more focussed Watsonians put us under considerable pressure however they were unable to breach the defensive line being marshalled by Ede and Bunker, with Wilson and Galloway making a welcome return to the squad.

It took a while for us to regain control but when we did the opposition put their bodies on the line to stop us scoring. One literally used his head to stop the ball going over the line, not pretty. Still we had our own fair share of macho displays with Mike White not just stoping a ball with his chest but breaking it in half (the ball, not his chest)! Robertson tried to follow suit but found his chest was too soft to repeat the act. Still, good effort.

Another corner was slipped to Dodkin who stroked (mishit?) the ball into the corner of the net. The opposition were gutted, we were chuffed. Our level of control was shown by the fact that when Dunbar scored our fifth no one really noticed, just another to add to the total.

Sadly we seemed to lapse into a complacency that inevitably results in conceding goals. Despite a few good saves from Miller—and a header from Wilson—we let in a couple of goals that gave the hosts some hope. Fortunately we regrouped and didn't concede any more before the final whistle sounded. 5-2 and a fairly comfortable and confident performance overall. A good start to the second half of the season.
