Yeah, seriously.

I'm not complaining about the football pitch we had to play on, or the pretty awful standard of umpiring, or Louis turning up late because his GPS gave up in the middle of Dunfermline, but I've got to draw the line when their guy pirouettes to axe a player before kicking him (it wasn't a hard kick, but it was at least his second of the game). A yellow card was grudingly shown and the 'explanation' we received (not an apology) was that he played shinty. WHAT??? Are we supposed to consider ourselves lucky he wasn't a boxer, or a mad axe-man in his spare time?

So what about the hockey? Well we started well and had a lot of possession but didn't really threaten their goal. Then we started to give away the ball and they got into it a bit more. Millar had to make a few saves, which is more than their keeper, but we were still frustrated to go in level at half-time having had so much of the ball.

The second half seemed to be following the same pattern although a changed formation meant that Foulds pushed higher up the pitch and was causing their defence some problems. That was, until they won a corner which Graham cleared off the line before McNally managed to turn it into his own goal. Not great.

Our breakthrough came after some good work by Foulds in the middle of the pitch and a couple of slick passes ended up with Dunbar passing to White who shuffled the ball over the line. This was quickly followed by another when White's shot was turned in by Ross Taylor to give us the lead.

This was pretty good, but the third goal was superb. Craig Robertson started it off in the middle of the pitch and fed Foulds, who passed it off to White, who found Taylor at the top of the circle, who laid it off to Foulds who put it into the net. Fantastic!

3-1 and looking very comfortable right up to seconds before the final whistle.

At which point we gave away a corner. Which was deflected in a huge loop. Which Miller could only palm into the net.

A sad way to finish off a pretty frustrating game and 3-2 made the game look much closer than it really was. We didn't make a lot of chances but, like our previous game, we took them well. We just need to stop giving away soft goals.
