Never take a semi-final for granted. The opposition is always going to put up a fight because the prize is worth it.

It wasn't a good start. A long ball through the middle found their forward pretty much unmarked and he slotted the ball home. 1-0 down and not very happy!

But we rallied and once we got into our groove there was no stopping us.

Macleod rolled back the years to give a lesson in passing, Macfarlane sizzled the ball to the wide men and Dunbar relished the opportunity to tink the ball past one defender after another.

It wasn't long before we equalised, but it was through a Macfarlane penalty stroke—awarded for a fairly gratuitous tackle—rather than open play.

We definitely had the upper hand and another strike from Donald from a corner gave us a well deserved lead. A third from Monty put us in a fairly comfortable position at half time. 3-1 up but only half way there.

The second half continued in the same vein with us dominating and our defence mopping up the occasional threat.

Foulds was irrepressible as he took every opportunity to harass Falkirk, ably assisted by Mark Campbell who made countless runs that ripped apart the defensive line, making it easy for McNally and Macleod to feed the ball to him.

Campbell got his reward with a fine goal that typified his efforts for the day and that was quickly followed by another from Monty to make the win fairly secure.

There were no more goals but plenty of goalmouth action and the one slightly worrying aspect was that we didn't manage to turn any more of the great chances into goals. Something to work on for the next round… yep, that will be the final.

Man of the Match? Split decision between Foulds and Campbell, who stepped into the squad and had a fantastic performance. Tom was, as usual, devastating in attack, but perhaps just lost out because Ireland edged England out of the Six Nations the day before.

Harsh, but fair :-)
